essexdance is the regional dance development agency for Essex, based in Chelmsford, England. It acts as a focus for innovation, excellence and access for dance development in the county, region and beyond. essexdance works in professional, educational and community contexts to deliver a range of dance events.

essexdance's current key priority is the development of the innovative area of dance and emerging technologies for which it is gaining a reputation locally, regionally and nationally. Through one of the largest Regional Arts Lottery Programme awards to date, essexdance has developed an Associate Artist scheme, to support a range of artists currently developing their work with dance and technology. Additionally, essexdance is now home to ReActor motion capture, the first of its kind in Europe purchased purely for use by artists.

Dance 4 (Partner)

The National Dance Agency based at PreSet in Nottingham. Firmly established as a leading national centre of dance activity, Dance 4 commissions and produces new dance work and manages the annual Nottdance Festival and Stamping Ground workshop festival. Dance 4 offers professional training, advice and support services for dance artists, and we work with local authorities and community partners to provide an outreach participation programme across Nottinghamshire.
